Koh Ming Wei is the school’s sustainability curriculum facilitator. Koh, who brings 20 years of experience in environmental sustainability and education, is responsible for K-12 curriculum and program content related to environmental studies and sustainability education. She has designed curriculum for a wide range of learners in diverse subject areas, has taught at the kindergarten through college levels, and has worked as a grant writer, curriculum developer, program coordinator, and project coordinator. She most recently was the Ecoliteracy Educator and School Garden Teacher at Kohala Elementary School through The Kohala Center. Koh, who is founding director of the Hawai‘i Sustainable Education Initiative in Honokaa, is a frequent presenter on sustainability and sustainable education and has authored numerous papers on these subjects. She earned her B.A. in music and biology from Berea College and her M.A. in instruction and curriculum from the University of Detroit. She currently is working toward a Ph.D. in education with a focus on environmental sustainability education.
