Fourth Graders Sharpen Their Biking Skills

Wed October 19, 2011

Cobey Doi's fourth grade class honed their biking skills at the three-day PATH Bike Ed program held recently at the Waimea Community Center. Bike Ed teaches basic bicycle handling and safety integrated with math, science, and health-related content. Students learned about helmet fit, bike fit, and safety tips before moving on to a bike course, where trained instructors worked with small groups of students on a variety of bicycle handling skills. Bike Ed is an in-scool program provided by PATH at no cost to schools thanks to grant funding.
